works great in my Nikon D90 January 6, 2009 Ron (San Francisco, CA USA) Works great. I've used this to hold a gigabyte of data files and thousands of pictures and many minutes worth of AVIs. Besides using it in my new camera, I've used it in several computers and a PlayStation 3. I like how the USB reader has an LED light at the end, so you know for sure that it's plugged in.
Reliable so far January 3, 2009 ws I have bought this card August/08 so far it has been working fine. Canon camera recognized with no problems. I am using the card reader to transfer my pictures to the computer, it is pretty easy as no cables scattered on my desk anymore!! Good pair even better with the price drop.
Failed within 1st hour of use in AVCHD Canon HF100 flash HD camcorder January 2, 2009 K. Lam (San Jose, CA) I bought 3 Transcend 16 GB Class 6 SDHC cards along with the Canon AVCHD HF100 flash-based HD camcorder. 1 card exhibited a buffer overrun error in the camera within the first hour of video. Then the camcorder wouldn't even read the card or the videos already on it. Luckily, I was able to recover the videos using data recovery software. Incidentally, the other 2 identical Transcend cards I have didn't seem to have the issue, but a 33% failure rate is bad news. I'm staying away from Transcend from now on.
Works great with my HD camera December 29, 2008 Eric Garlinghouse (Atlanta, GA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have a canon HF10 HD camera and I use this in the extra card bay to record HD footage. It works really well with the camera but the big bonus is the card reader. When I transfer my footage to my hard drive, Final Cut views the card via the card reader AS the camera, so I can log and transfer the footage as if the camera is attached directly to the computer. Otherwise, I have to attach the camera to the computer (laptop) while the footage is transferring and the camera requires you to have it connected to a power source... ugh... too many wires... especially if you are transferring to an external drive as well. So the card reader is great to have, the card is plenty fast to record/play HD quality footage, + for some reason, the Final Cut log and capture screen thumbnails update almost instantly using the card reader. For some reason the thumbnails take a long time to populate when viewing through the camera. If you are looking to use this with an HD camera, I say this is your best bet.
16 GByte flash memory and card reader December 27, 2008 J. Ryan (Boulder, CO) Works just as advertised. Transfer of video from flash card to computer via the USB card reader was quick enough, and I did not have to search for the USB cable. Easy to keep the card reader in the camera bag with the video camera.
